Session Report for Saturday, 1/20/2007
2 Players, 4 Games. Two of us braved the blowing snow to play board games, so we did not have the huge group that was expected compared to the last session.
10 Days In Europe
(August, Nick)
(August, Nick)
We initially played the first round to fill in to see if any one else would brave the snow to play board games. I won the first game and Nick won the second game in he second turn. 10 Days In Europe is a fifteen to thirty minute game where you make a ten day journey by making connections to different countries.
Power Grid: Benelux
(August, Nick)
This is one of the newest expansion maps for Power Grid that came out late last year (2006). The other map is Central Europe which has many restrictions during play. We started by excluding the teal, blue, and violet areas of the map. With Benelux economical power plants earlier to the current market. Throughout our game, those power plants did not have to use that rule. Another rule that was added for the Benelux was that during Phase 5: Bureaucracy the smallest power plant is automatically removed from the game. Nick and I was able to build into all twenty-one city and was able to power them all. So by the rules of the games the winner is the one with the most electro (money). So I won by twenty-two electro.
Thurn and Taxis
(August, Nick)
Nick started off fairly decently with me finding out some of the "Rules" during the game when I tried to do certain aspects of the game. The game took a turn for the worst for Nick when he had to scrap a route early in the game for not being able to play a city card for his route and later scrapping a second route before scoring the route. I ended up winning by quite a bit.
