Welcome

The Wichita Boardgamers are a group of about 20 diverse individuals who share a common interest in playing designer boardgames. What's a designer boardgame? It's a new genre of boardgames which originated in Europe over ten years ago and have since become widely acclaimed here in the States. Designer boardgames have a few notable characteristics:

• Simple and quick to learn rules
• Engaging and interactive game play
• Shorter playtimes than traditional American games
• A nice balance of strategy and luck
• High quality, visually appealing components
• The name of the Designer is prominately featured (much like the author of a book)

Designer games are perfect for get togethers with family or friends. They are another form of entertainment much like television or video games except that they require you to stretch your brain a little bit and also to interact with your fellow players. All across America groups, just like this one, are springing up to take advantage of the enjoyment these games offer. Come see for yourself!
